Cooperative Task-Oriented Computing

This book focuses on models, algorithmic techniques, and analysis. The goal is to present the most interesting approaches to algorithm design and analysis leadingto many fundamental results in cooperative distributed computing. The algorithmsselected for inclusion in this work are among the most efficient that additionally serveas good pedagogical examples. Of course it is impossible to include all such algorithms,and some algorithms that are marginally more efficient are not included if they are toocomplex or if their analysis is too involved to serve the pedagogical aims of the authors. Each chapterconcludes with bibliographic notes that include a wealth of references to related workand relevant advanced results.
