In many cases, questions are posed that will be associated with specific actions you will need to take. Because one cannot act on every front simultaneously, readers will need to set a wide range of goals for themselves — some will be accomplished quickly, and some that may take more time. Along the way readers are encouraged to keep good records of their progress. Documentation of some of the information discussed in the guide will be important for tenure packets. For the untenured faculty member, the author has several recommendations aimed at motivating personal progress and support from tenured colleagues.
