Treatise on the Priesthood

John Chrysostom, the Archbishop of Constantinople around the year 390 AD, was an important leader in early Christianity. His eloquent literary works focused strongly on his denunciation on the abuse of authority and his emphasis on self-discipline - submitting our will to God. His Treatise On the Priesthood is one of his earlier works and speaks particularly to the importance of priesthood authority.
