A Michigan native, author and poet Wallace Caminsky has seen the world around him change in many ways. Growing up in the depths of the Great Depression, he grew to manhood in the South Pacific during World War II before returning home to begin a rich, varied life that included raising a family, travel at home and abroad, and careers in the auto industry, law, and government service.
His first book, All Fathers Are Giants, wove his experiences into a rich tapestry of short stories illustrating life in and around the gritty industrial town of Detroit during the Depression, as well as its post-war heyday. In Words for Someone Else's Music, he brings the lyrical sounds of poetry, ranging from whimsical to the bittersweet, to the human paradox of life - from the joys of children to the aches and pains of growing older.
