THE CIRCUMCISION DECISION: THE BOOK OF NEWBORN MALE CIRCUMCISION

I have yet to come across a book that provided me with an unbiased overview. So many of the books that I have read discuss the ‘mutilation’ of the male foreskin and guilt a parent into believing that they are monsters. As a poor example of a Jew, and as a physician who performs daily circumcision, how then can I stand on a soapbox and state that I am unbiased? The reality for me is that I am here to provide as much information to my patients .I also provide a service, that is no different than my service of delivering babies. My philosophy is the same. My objective is to provide the very best care to the patient so that whatever service it is that I am providing, the patient and or the parents are treated with dignity, and without any harm coming to the individual that I am treating.
