This work is a complete and unabridged edition of a classic work by John Bunyah. It was translated from the original seventeenth-century text and further edited and annotated by L. Edward Hazelbaker. Mr. Hazelbaker is well-known for twoother Pure Gold Classics by Bunyan: The Pilgrim's Progress and Grace Abounding to the Chief of Sinners. Mr. Hazelbaker writes, "As with my work in those two books [see above] my priority has been to deal with The Holy War in a way that offers it to contemporary and future readers of English in a form that is more understandable, while rea=mining faithful to its original author's intentions." He has done a superbly professional job in exceeding this goal. This allegory deals with a time long ago in the town of Mansoul when a fierce battle raged as evil forces under the leadership of Diabolus tried to take control away from the rightful Prince (Emmanuel). The inhabitants of Mansould endeavor to resist the attacks of the evil one. As one reads this exciting book, he will learn how to engage in effective spiritual warfare. Bunyan reveals: When your will is in line with Christ and His Word, you can accomplish anything. You can expect spiritual attached at any time. The enemy's goal is to gain control of your soul, and he will stop at nothing to do so. Christ is on your side. With His help, you have nothing to fear.
