Humor is any one person's perception of what is funny, witty, or amusing. Humor is subjective; what is riotously funny to one person may be downright offensive to others. Humor is so powerful that it is even used by some in the medical community as a remedy for ills. Humor therapy has even been touted as a treatment for cancer patients. It has long been espoused that laughter, a byproduct of humor, is the best medicine and it now appears that idiom is being put into practice. Humor’s effect on the human countenance is so strong that it causes mood enhancement, reduces stress levels, and in general promotes an environment that stimulates better health and overall well-being. Some incidences are not inherently humorous at that moment but become more amusing in retrospect over time. But where did humor come from? More than a history, however, it is also an anthology of the work; not only do you get to read the history behind the work--you actually get to read the work. More than a dozen authors and stories and books make up this collection. Included books in this massive collection are as follows: How to Annoy Your Friendly Public Librarian Illiteracy: A Prototype for Success Bones in London Danny's Own Story The Devil's Dictionary The Diary of a Nobody Fables in Slang A Modest Proposal My Man Jeeves Napoleon of Notting Hill The Picture of Dorian Grey The Prince and the Pauper Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town Sylvie and Bruno Three Men in a Boat
