A Really Good Friend

"There is nothing more cherished, more valued, more worthwhile than a really good friend." I had read this sage statement as a child back in the first decade of the 21st century and for some reason had never forgotten it. But little did I know my later experiences would prove over and over the solid validity of the simple quotation written by some obscure author many generations ago. Let me explain! Few people can say they had a really good friend - the friend that is better than any family - and fewer yet can have a bonded relationship with such a friend over a lifetime. Yet I was one of those fortunate few. Clark Romney was better than any brother, wiser than any father, more sharing and compassionate than any saint, and who loved me enough to set me straight when I wandered into fruitless enterprises. He kept me motivated, alert, and hardworking when my natural tendencies led the other way; he taught me what real love is made of; and he led me to a world of prosperity I never knew existed.
