Gait Morgan was silent for some time. "Meet where?" he finally asked.
Anna crossed herself, prayed that Gait wouldn't hang up the phone, then took the plunge. "At Cherebrooke Farm. I've made all the arrangements for . . ."
"WHERE?! You can't be serious!" Gait bellowed. He was astounded that Anna so much as mentioned the place; asking to meet him there was beyond any pale.
Anna was spent. She had failed miserably. Then, like a sunbeam striking cut crystal, she remembered Gait's "code red" phrase: "It's about Fregene." Reserved for only the direst of straits, once it was uttered, a "Fregene code" command must be blindly obeyed. Would the code work for her now? Would Gait even remember it?
"Gait," she said evenly. "It's about Fregene."
What do a quaint Italian beach front, a farm that's not a farm, and a vexingly elusive key mean to a larger-than-life travel magnate and entrepreneurial genius?
Set in rural New Hampshire just as the "excessive 80s" slide south, MR. NATURAL is a thrilling tale of hubris run amuck with a plot as convoluted as its characters. Prepare to be captivated by the roller-coaster highs and cataclysmic lows of this astounding clash between human emotion and moral principle.
