Baskin, who utilizes poetry to share his Christian views and convictions, was prompted to write when thoughts and words interrupted many a sound sleep at 2 and 3 a.m. He does not see himself as a Bible authority but merely as a humble believer willing to be God's instrument (in one of the poems, "I'm Just a Christian", he describes himself).
His 70 poems are divided into five sections, with each section containing a message of faith. His highly relatable topics include-
• Personal Faith: The Christian life, including poems about J.D.'s personal faith experiences;
• Faith through Trials: Believing through life's challenges, including poems about the author's personal trials as well as about national and international troubles;
• Faith in God's Word: Inspired by stories from the Bible, including stories about Jesus' life as well as the lives of other Bible characters;
• Sharing the Faith: Encouragement for other Christians-such as keeping the faith in old age-as well as verses urging nonbelievers to repent;
• Eternal Faith: Heaven, eternity, and the second coming of Christ.
Readers will be blessed by the sincere poetry of J.D. Baskin.
