Meet the Saints introduces some of the men and women who influenced the church in radical ways, such as Ambrose and Teresa of Avila; who knew Jesus, such as Mary Magdelene and Martha and Mary of Bethany; who were contemplatives and mystics, such as Therese of Lisieux and Padre Pio; who immigrated to the Americas, such as Francis Xavier Cabrini and John Neumann; who founded religious orders, such as Benedict of Nursia and Angela Merici; who shared deep friendships, such as Francis de Sales and Jane de Chantal; who came from the Eastern churches, such as Ephrem and John Crysostum; who befriended the poor, such as Elizabeth of Hungary and Martin of Tours; and who lived in contemporary times, such as Katherine Drexel and Maria Faustina Kowalska.
