In 2007, U.S. Army Sgt. Edward Watson was stationed in Iraq. One day, his regiment went on patrol and spotted a tiny black-and-white puppy. The soldiers brought him back to their base and named him Charlie. Sergeant Watson knew that keeping pets was against military rules, yet he saw how much Charlie lifted everyone's spirits.
