A normal Sunday morning, Tom Wilson, sat
reading the Sunday newspaper at the breakfast
table. The market dropped another 750
points this week. The auto manufacturers were
operating at 30 per cent of capacity and talking
shutdown. Another bank failure story. Sarah,
his wife was cooking breakfast in the kitchen
and the two young kids were still in bed. He
turned to the second page and glanced down
to the lower left hand section of the page and
suddenly sat back, set his coffee mug down on
the edge of the table and grabbed the paper
with both hands.
Unfortunately he displaced the coffee mug
dumping the hot coffee into his lap, scalding
his private parts. He leaped up, turning his chair
over and yelled, “Damn that burns”!
Sarah came in from the kitchen and said,
“My God! You have ruined your pants, What
happened?”
“The pants are the least of my worries. I gotta
get out of them.”
A few minutes later Sarah had cleaned up
the mess and poured a new cup of coffee,
which she was careful to place further from the
edge of the table. Tom returned to the breakfast
nook after a shower, wearing clean pants
and grabbed the paper.
“Look at these numbers. They are yours and
my birth dates.”
“So what?”
“Those are the numbers I played. If this is
right, I won the lottery.”
“Wow! That’s nice, how much did you
win?”
“Two hundred and twenty million dollars, I
think. I better check the Internet” He turned
on the Mac computer and hit Safari then lottery.
Winning numbers 2, 11, 46, 12, 22, 47
One winning ticket sold in Oklahoma City, Ok.
$220,000,000.00.
Sarah sat down at the table, looked at Tom
with a skeptical expression, and said, “Tom, are
you sure about this?”
“Well that’s what the internet says.”
