The book of Exodus open and close with the Israelites at work-first in slavery under the Egyptians, and then in freedom as they build God's tabernacle. Just as God led Israel to a new kind of work under his gracious and holy kingship, he also wants us today to see that what we do in work flows from why we do it and for whom we ultimately work. Studying Exodus teaches us to see ourselves as recipient of God's salvation, knowing what God's work is, and training ourselves to follow his word. This study will help provide guidance as you seek to follow God daily-living and working in his freedom. This Bible study is part of the Bible and Your Work Study Series. Each book contains Scripture references, thought-provoking questions, and prayers to help you explore what the Bible says about work and apply it to your life in positive, practical ways. The lessons in each chapter are designed for thirty-minute lunch breaks, although they can be used in other formats as well. The Theology of Work by Project is a resource to help you apply the Scriptures and Christian faith to your work. It includes wisdom from over 140 contributors from sixteen countries who attest that although we often find ourselves frustrated, exploited, or underappreciated as we work, God didn't intend it to be tailsome. So what was God's original plan for work? How do we claim our divine calling to work? Why does your work matter to God? By exploring the topic from Genesis to Revelation we see a theology of work that shows us how to support ourselves, serve others, and find value in our vocations Learn more at theologyofwork.org.
