Smuggled parchment from a cave below the Dead Sea arrives at the Vatican in the dead of night. Within the shipment, Cardinal Brandt discovers a fragment of a letter...
...the Epistula Sancta.
Some believe that it quite possibly was written by Jesus himself on the night of his crucifixion. Racing against a militant Muslim cult of assassins and a secret cartel determined to steal the fragment, Cardinal Brandt and his brother fight to reassemble the letter as the Cardinal wrestles with his conscience.
Priests are mutilated, security guards decapitated, a Cardinal assassinated, and a family's ugly secret is exposed, ultimately destroying the family...
...yet the meaning of the fragment remains hidden.
Soon, Cardinal Brandt realizes the Epistula he is pursuing contains a hidden prophesy. The Cardinal must then decide whether to continue searching for the remaining fragments and possibly reveal the date of the Apocalypse to a world already in turmoil, or allow the Epistula and its contents to remain hidden.
