How Dyslexic Benny Became A Star: A story of hope for dyslexic children and their parents

Benny Whitley is terriffied when his fifth grade teacher calls on him to read aloud. He is frustrated and humiliated by his ongoing struggles and he feels increasingly left behind his classmates. His dad thinks his problem is laziness. Dubbed "Stupid Benny" by his peers, Benny envisions the upcoming football tryouts as a way to win some respect-- a way to prove he can succeed. When an understanding coach and a perceptive teacher diagnose him with dyslexia, Benny and his family are faced with a new challenge: how to accept that Ben will need special help to reach his full potential.
