Wea H. Lee, Chairman of Southern News Group in Houston, Texas, oversees a diverse media business with an international presence that includes print, radio, TV, and internet services. Mr. Lee is current chairman of the recently established International Management District in southwest Houston, a board member of the Harris County Hospital District Foundation and an advisor to Congressman Al Green of the 9thU.S. Congressional District in Houston, Texas and he is also a board member of the Asia Society of Houston and President of the International Trade Center in Houston

Mr. Lee is a graduate of Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas, studied at Harvard Business School, Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, and started his publishing business in 1979 in Houston, Texas with his wife, Catherine.

Mr. Lee has expanded his Southern News Group, which publishes the Southern Chinese Daily News and the Chinese Yellow Pages in Houston, Texas, to include Daily newspapers and yellow pages publications in eleven other major U.S. cities, including Dallas, San Antonio, Seattle, Washington, St. Louis, New York and Washington D.C. In 2007, he established the International Trade Center in southwest Houston has worked closely with the U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Service to sponsor international business meetings, trade delegations and trade missions. In2009, Mr. Lee announced the first-ever ITV International Television station, Channel 55.5, in Houston, Texas that covers international business topics, entertainment, sports and educational programming.

His community involvement includes work with the United Way, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, the Houston Better Business Bureau, the Asian Lunar New Year Festival, the Alief International Parade and the George Bush Library.

Mr. Lee's honors over the years include a listing with "Who's Who in Leading American Executives," Outstanding Young Man of America (1983) and Outstanding Overseas Chinese Young Man of the Year (1976).
