On the surface, Fishing and Buddies seem mutually inclusive. But therein lies the profound statement "...with friends like that, who needs enemies"? Carl had dreamed of finding the time for fishing. Finding the inner peace that would come from the intensity of moment, when that unlucky fish would be unable to elude the prowess of his technique: cast out, take a sip of his beer, wait for the tug on the line, and then reel in a monster catch. But dreams can resemble nightmares at times, and finding 7 others who shared his quest for this type of inner peace, became the building blocks of stories that shouldn't be told to the grandchildren.

Whereas fishing and buddies should be synonymous, this book leans more towards mid-life crisis and asylum. Laugh away through each page and be thankful that you aren't named as one of the posse.
