Precious Retribution

In the small rustic city of Maybern, North Carolina, a child is born, Precious Sullivan by name. In time, Precious blossoms into a vibrant, dedicated, beautiful young woman. She is raised by the preacher of the town's largest church, and both he and his wife believe soundly in not sparring the rod. The very archetype of Christian upbringing.

They have big hopes for Precious but priorities change when her father is hospitalized after a massive heart attack and her neat and orderly life takes a sharp turn for the worst. As if right on cue, a handsome stranger named Emery Johnson appears. A knight in shining armor, Emery sweeps Precious off her feet with affection and expensive gifts but his motives may be darker than she realizes. Slowly, Emery forces Precious away from both of her ailing parents, away from the city she's always called home, away from everything she's ever known. Then, like the wisp of smoke from an extinguished candle, Emery disappears without trace or clue.
