Wearing of the Gray: Being Personal Portraits, Scenes, and Adventures of War

Although John Esten Cooke fought during for the Confederacy during the Civil War, he is best known for his writing. Wearing of the Gray is Cooke's most celebrated work, in which he discusses many scenes during the war including some involving his cousin-in-law JEB Stuart.
