Cyan Stevens is happily engaged to Dominic Steele. They are planning to marry and move to Germany for Dominic's business when Cyan is summoned for the reading of her late aunt's will. The will makes certain demands that Cyan feels obligated to fulfill, and Dominic breaks off the engagement. Unbeknownst to him, Cyan was pregnant with his child.
