Lifeguard Dogs

On July 15, 2012, the wind at Sant' Agostino Beach in Italy pushed two swimmers dangerously far from shore. Fortunately, a lifeguard named Ariel was on duty. With her partner, she managed to swim out and safely bring both swimmers back. Most of the time, such an event wouldn't make headlines. On that day, however, it did. That's because one of the lifeguards-Ariel-was a Labrador retriever! Look inside to find out more about Ariel and other lifeguard dogs that patrol beaches to save people from drowning.
