Bones Warious

This book—Bert Hornback’s fifth on the novels of Charles Dickens—takes its titles from Our Mutual Friend. Mr. Venus is an “articulator of skeletons,” professionally, and he has a box labeled “Bones Warious,” for bones that he can’t find a proper place for. These essays—like Mr. Venus’s collection of bones—are various. The only thing that connects them is their author’s interest in, knowledge of, and love for Dickens’s novels.
