Awakened

The majority of the focus is on 'sistahood' or the lack thereof. The author has taken these thoughts and compilations and magnified some of the areas in her life that have suffered due to a lack of revelation, healing, and application. In some cases, she has pointed out the origin of them, because you can't know where you are going if you haven't truly acknowledged where you have been. Within this book are self-reflections from a woman who chooses to take her place as a victor, not a victim. She emphasizes many thoughts from the perspective of a black woman that provokes gratitude from the depths of her being. She does not ignore the bouquet of other beautiful 'sistahs' but to reflect on what she can present from a position and perspective of who she's grown to be-a beautiful, blessed, and grateful black woman.
