The Red Record Tabulated Statistics and Alleged Causes of Lynching in the United States

The Red Record is a late 19th century/ early 20th century document on the history of practice of lynching against African Americans in the American South since the Emancipation Proclamation by early civil rights activist Ida B. Wells. It contains over a dozen pages of straight statistics as well as other documentation as well as commentary and analysis on ways the community would cope with the situation over that time period.
