Translations of Shakuntala and Other Works

Published in 1912 by Professor of Sanskrit Arthur W. Ryder, this collection of works by widely-regarded Sanskrit poet and dramatist Kalidasa. It contains his most famous play about the mother of Emperor Bharata, Shakuntala; two shorter dramas called “Malavika and Agnimitra”, and Urvashi; and four poems: the epic The Dynasty of Raghu, The Birth of the War-god, The Cloud Messenger, and The Seasons.
