Monograms & Ciphers

Monograms and Ciphers is a 1905 catalog depicting various examples of styles and combinations of letters to produce symbols and logos. Albert Turbayne was a bookbinder and in the early 20th century. While briefly touching on ciphers in the sense of codes in the introduction, this term is mainly meant in this case as string letters representing someone’s initials from which one would create the monogram.
