Bede's Ecclesiastical History of England

Saint Bede was an English monk living in the 8th century A.D. His Ecclesiastical History of England discusses the history of Britain from a Christian perspective, starting with Ceasar’s invasion in 55 A.D. up to Bede’s present day. In particular, the work is interested in an analysis of the conflict between Roman and Celtic Christians. It is considered an important reference book for Anglo-Saxon history and earned Bede the title, “Father of English History.”
