Robbie Remembers is the story of one child's journey through the joys, the pain, and the challenge of growing up in rural Oklahoma in the first two decades of the twentieth century. The reader is invited to enter a world of one-room schools and pioneer home life, to engage the intriguing story of pioneer agriculture, and to experience the impact of community, state, national, and world events upon the lives of folk in a remote community at the beginning of the twentieth century. The reader will witness, through the eyes of the child, the meeting of Pioneer family and Native American tribe, the thunderclap of World War I, the ascent of the Ku Klux Klan, the colorful and often fractious nature of early Oklahoma politics, and the lingering legacy, sixty years after, of the Civil War.
