Southeast Asia as seen through the eyes of the native hill people of the jungle highlands. Follow an adventure started at the end of a ten-year war, move through the tangles of an unforgiving environment under the harshest of conditions, and live off the land. The jungle provides shelter with minimal comfort to those who take refuge in its embrace and witness the rebirth of nature brought on by the assault of the yearly rains, the monsoons that flood the valleys and deltas and overflow the rivers and streams. A United States Navy pilot lost in this vast sea of green jungle has been found by the indigenous people called the Montagnard, the American Indian of Asia, shunned by the Vietnamese, called savage, they live a life of hunter gatherers, yet they do so with pride and dignity. These people know the ways of the jungle, its pitfalls and perils, its ability to give them shelter and warmth in its dark labyrinth. To most, it's a place of fear, hardship and pain. To these pragmatic and tenacious native tribesmen, it's home.
