The author takes a closer look at why first and second unplanned teen and adolescent pregnancies must be prevented among disadvantaged and at-risk adolescents.
The book shares intense research and identifies hidden factors of how one or both parent(s) knowingly and intentionally can cause continued and extreme poverty on their child(ren).
The author explores various social disparities, including her own, acknowledging that adolescent pregnancies do not cause poverty, but poverty is a number one factor that causes an adolescent pregnancy. The book shares stories of teen and adolescent parents and seeks to find out how this population segment of a community can escape the stigma of teen pregnancy and teen parenting in one's lifetime
The book continues by demonstrating the many faces, causes and affects of poverty, associated with being a single and teenaged-parent, child abuse, child neglect, community problems, conflict, and crime and concludes that a family linage of poverty can last as long as life and as long as one hundred years equating to ten generations.
