The Chronicle will also touch upon the Medieval Period and two ancient Orders, the Knight Templars and the Illuminati, whose histories have a bearing on this journey.
An invention by Christiaan Huygens in mid-seventeenth century Netherlands, a pendulum clock, was fantastic science for its time and ultimately led to the discovery of a concept long sought by world monarchs and rulers who were willing to pay handsomely for its discovery.
Although fiction, The Clock Chronicle remains faithful to major historical events. Its fictional characteristic is the notion of anthropomorphism; giving human characteristics to a non-human object.
With the first perfect swing of Huygens' pendulum, Clock, as it comes to be known, springs to a naive consciousness with a sentience limited to hearing, seeing, learning, and thinking. Clock is refreshing in its unbiased observations about the conduct of man and the schisms between governments and religion.
Clock matures and finds it can hope and care as it meets or is owned by many who are, or would ultimately be, known throughout the world.
