If your childhood was anything like mine, the birthday cake was the mosteagerly anticipated event when the big day rolled around. As a decoratorwho is passionate about kids’ novelty cakes there is nothing more rewardingthan seeing the excitement on a child’s face when they see their cake for thefirst time. The idea of continuing this surprise and excitement throughout thecake cutting and eating process is priceless.

So, when I was asked to compile50 of my favourite cakes and cupcakes with surprises inside my inner childwas delighted at the opportunity to share with you how easy it is to createa surprise inside a beautifully decorated cake.
