About the Author:
Gertie Pool is a freelance writer. Her novel Cry for Freedom is based on true facts from her family's unusual wartime experiences. Pool depicts her own story in the character of Jodi. She lends humorous account to the family's surprising adventures with an unfamiliar culture, when they decide to immigrate to a foreign land. Gertie and her husband John have three children, fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. They all live in British Columbia, Canada.
