The Scripture in Translation begins with the account of how the Bible was extracted from ancient languages into English, only to face violent opposition on the shores of England itself. The journey continues with dramatic historical events that impacted Bible translation and publishing-such as the fourteenth-century translator who was taken to court and condemned by the church of the day (decades after his death!)- and finishes by looking at the strengths and weaknesses of the editions available to us today.
Cy (Cyril) is a native of New Brunswick, Canada, where his early years were spent on the family farm near the quaint little village of Fredericton Junction. He was converted to Christ at a Leighton Ford Crusade in 1963, and following graduation from high school, he furthered his studies at New Brunswick Bible Institute and Canadian Bible College in Regina. Cy is an avid reader who enjoys all things theological and historical. He has pastored churches in Saskatchewan, North
Dakota, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
Cy has two daughters, Colleen and Susan, along with three grandchildren, Rachel, Adam and Caitlin and one brother, Dana, who pastors the North Road Baptist Church in Campbellton, NB. Cy now makes Shelburne, NS his home.
