The Starr Jewel

Shortly after the third world war torn the earth apart, two humans from two generations of the same family, went exploring a recently discovered ancient city buried deep below the surface of Mars. Young Maelina Malcolm was sixteen years old when she accompanied her grandfather, Doctor Mikel Malcolm, a well respected scientist scheduled for retirement, to explore a relic buried in a recently excavated cavern.

The teams discovered an unusual object in the caverns deep below the ground of the ancient city. It had a star shaped crystal embedded in the hilt of a sword like object. Maelina had a small star shaped birthmark just below her left wrist. Her birthmark reacted to the crystal when it was first shown on the news. Doctor Malcolm decided to see the object up close. He wanted to know rather or not the reaction was just an coincident or it could be related to Maelina's birthmark. He convinced his granddaughter to accompany him on the trip. When they were within range the star shaped crystal reacted to their presence. Without warning the Malcolms were transported to Maracar, a dying world billions of light years away. Over time they began working with the aliens who rescued them from the clutches of their sovereign who was slowly driven mad by chaos.

Slowly they began to understand the secrets of the sword, how Maelina was related to the feloids, and her role in the destiny of an entire civilization. Their destiny were being decided all within the mystic realm of the Starr Jewel.
