This fascinating volume is concerned with the trial of Albert Speer, Hitler's architect and the Minister of Armaments and War Production. It includes all the testimony regarding his trial, including his cross-examination by the Court, the concluding speeches from the defence and prosecution, and the final judgment on his case. Because of his close links with the Nazi system of forced labour, the book also includes evidence regarding this policy.
Speer, almost uniquely in this trial, accepted responsibility for his actions. However, he denied any knowledge of the Holocaust, or of the appalling conditions of the enslaved workers at the Krupp factories and other armaments works. What he did or did not know about the about the brutalities of the Nazi régime is still a matter of speculation today.
