Copenhagen 1940. Zack and Nikolai are happy in love and enjoy a blissful lifestyle on the gay scene until they are arrested during the Nazi invasion of Denmark. Zack, an American attaché with diplomatic immunity goes free.
But Nikolai is handed over to the notorious Dr. Carl Vaernet who claims to have discovered a “cure” for homosexuality.
