Caitlin's Promise

Fifteen year old Caitlin watches from the hillside as her family is driven from their home during the "Highland Clearances". All alone, she vows to seek redress for her family and her village.

So she begins and epic journey through Western Scotland to Liverpool, enduring great hardship and cruelty but finding trust and friendship along the way.

A leap of faith sends her to the New World where she finds love and fulfillment in a family of her own. Hard work and a head for trade bring her wealth and respect but she has to survive personal tragedy and mistrust in a man's world.

Circumstances prevent her from achieving the justice she truly desires but Caitlin's Promise passes down through the generations until, Emily on holiday in the Highlands becomes involved in her family's past in an unexpected way.
