The Haunting of Jack Kent

Doctor Richard Kaine is a brilliant young Austrian psychiatrist who fled his native country in the threat of Nazi occupation before the Second World War. He agrees to see a member of Bomber Command suffering from battle fatigue and stress disorder, but is it something more sinister?

Jack Kent, a twenty-two-year-old bomb aimer, has already completed over thirty missions in enemy territory and each new one is getting worse. He is now seeing apparitions and ghostly figures in and around his base in Norfolk who are becoming increasingly more hostile. Is he cracking up? It hasn't affected his ability to perform his duties so far, but will it?

When the war is over, Kent is discharged from hospital after a spell being treated by Dr Kaine. He joins a firm of architects and eventually ties up with his American friend he served with during the war. Their paths are destined to cross many times before the meaning of the apparitions becomes disastrously clear.
