Silencing Love

Right after retirement, he was occupied by loneliness and emptiness, repeatedly haunted by ugly, rebellious moods. Life for him had become overstretched and tedious. Daniel would often say, "People will only approach you when they want something; otherwise, you are nothing to them." He now found this to be true of those he had once called friends.

However, he found some consolation in his family and children, as they became his friends, his loved ones and everything as they always were. He believed in love, which he thought of as a healer, and believed that the universe could not exist without love. To him, love is a symphony descending from heaven to earth resting on merciful angel's wings. With love alone, orchards bloom, hearts make up, trees bear fruit. With love alone, roads are paved with happiness and joy.
