Single to Peking

In the early twentieth century, Helena, a young German woman travels with her young daughter by Trans-Siberian railway to join her Chinese husband in Peking. Life in China is a considerable culture shock, not to mention the effects of the Sino-Japanese war and World War Two. Although this book is written as a novel, it follows the true life story of an incredibly strong woman overcoming adversity.
