ESCAPE FROM DARKNESS consist of three novels and tells the story of the postwar generation in Germany trying to find new ways to be, to connect, to love.

In ‘BY THE LAKE’ Carol travels from New York to Berlin to find out about her late father, a German rocket scientist who fled to America after WW2. She tries hide her true identity whilst in Berlin, but paradoxically gets involved with Thomas, a charismatic radio reporter who is afraid of losing his job at Berlin Radio and is absorbed with the imminent fall of the ‘Berlin Wall’.

In ‘DELAYED TENDERNESS’ Michael, a computer scientist and a political activist, is haunted by the madness of his mother, a Nazi sympathizer who had abused him. He struggles with his emotional barrier towards women. Can his relationship with a Jewish feminist bring him Delayed Tenderness?

In ‘THE GERMAN LOVER’ Peter, a psychologist and a compulsive charmer, responsible for the suicide of his ex-girlfriend, is desperate to find true feelings through ‘New Age’ ideas, far eastern philosophies and a new relationship with an artist.
