From Shanghai to Shanghai: The War Diary of an Imperial Japanese Army Medical Officer, 1937-1941

While most soldiers' accounts of war involve danger, hardship, loss, triumph, Tetsuo (1910-89) tells about military comfort women, cabaret dancers, the military secret service, missionaries, and such during his service in China. He was, after all, a gynecologist. The photographs are not typical either. The memoir includes no notes or index. No mention is made of a Japanese edition.
