The Exploits of Edward Reynolds. NAPOLEON'S COURT PAINTER

It is 1802. At last there is peace between France and England. Edward Reynolds, a student at a London art school. wins a scholarship to L'Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and goes there. But a year later, peace come to a sudden end and Edward finds it impossible to return to England. Unwilling to be arrested by Napoleon as a detainee, as are many of his fellow countrymen, he changes his name and sets up as a street artist in Montmartre.
