"I wanted to write this book, mainly because I wanted to be heard," he said. "I felt like it's a lot of urban novels that don't always reveal a message or project any feeling from some of the main characters. I wanted to tell an urban tale from the perspective of someone who wasn't a boss and just dealt with the conflicting emotions of dealing with the game - how your past choices can affect your present and your future.
