Meeting in a Maze : 'After weeks without any news from Olivier, I decided I would try and find him. His last letter had carried the postmark of a Dutch village, but after a long journey I couldn't find any trace of him there. I was distraught, and put an advertisement in the local newspaper. As a result, a couple came forward and told me they had given him lodgings for some time; they didn't know where he might have gone afterwards, but they handed me an envelope with my name on it which Olivier had left with them.'So begins the maze : gradually events and encounters will bring most characters to question their particular view of life and to discover their own path to confidence, kindness and love.
