Modern Macroeconomics: Its Origins, Development and Current State

In a manner appropriate for intermediate undergraduates, this work traces the origins and developments of modern macroeconomics in historical perspective while simultaneously treating different schools of thought in individual chapters to allow readers to focus on their particular interests. Originally conceived by Snowdon (economics, Northumbria U., UK) and Vane (economics, Liverpool John Moores U., UK) as a slightly amended update to their earlier A Modern Guide to Macroeconomics: An Introduction to Competing Schools of Thought (Edward Elgar, 1994), this work instead wound up with extensive rewrites of old material and the edition of two new chapters on the "new political macroeconomics" and the "new growth" literature.
