The White Sands Of Pasir Poetih

This book deals with historical facts as background. The story describes events before, during and after the last war in Indonesia and the loss to the Netherlands of a colony which in longitude was the largest in the world. The historical events are woven into a love story in which four inseparable friends, one Dutch, one Chinese, one woman, (Hungarian by birth) and one Indonesian freedom fighter, are taking part.

The story starts with a prediction that a wartime yellow-skinned race will occupy all the islands of Netherlands - East - Indies. The prediction is told by an illiterate Indonesian fisherman to a government official (the Dutchman in the story). The prediction turns out to be correct in every respect - except for one notable exception.
