Katy Farrier

Katie Farrier lost her parents tragically when she was 3 years old. The story tells of how she is taken in by her estranged grandparents who feel responsible for her, but have no maternal affections towards her. She's put to work in the kitchen and lives in the servants' quarters.

After the death of her Grandfather it falls to, Lord Dominic Davenport, to become her legal guardian. Not wanting to be saddled with a young girl, he arranges for her to marry a man almost three times her age.

Lord Davenport leads everyone to believe that he has no interest in the girl other than she is a burden that must be dealt with. It would seem that this is not so, as his feelings for her change when she ends up in trouble and needs his help.

The story is set on the North East coast of England in Northumberland. It has elements of intrigue, crime and passion.

Will Katy ever be able to lead a normal happy life?
